We started Rome Masonry in 2014 with one belief: masonry done properly outlasts the person who built it.

Matthew grew up around trowels and mortar boards, learning from the older generation of masons whose walls still stand today. After 17 years working every corner of the trade — from foundations and structural block to fine historic stucco work — he founded Rome Masonry to bring that same standard to homes and businesses across the Lehigh Valley.

Every project we take on is led personally by Matthew. We're small on purpose. It's the only way we can promise that the wall you see finished on Friday was laid with the same care as the one we photographed on Monday.

We're equally comfortable rebuilding a 19th-century chimney with lime mortar as we are laying a modern flagstone patio or installing a stone veneer facade. Whatever the era, whatever the material — the goal is the same: build it once, build it right.
