Patios in the Lehigh Valley, PA

Patios built for beauty and drainage — level, tight-jointed, and standing up to Pennsylvania seasons.

About This Service

Period-correct craftsmanship, done right the first time.

A patio is the room your family uses more than most rooms in the house. It has to look right, sit level, and drain — for 20+ years. Rome Masonry builds paver, flagstone and natural stone patios on properly compacted bases with pitch away from the house, tight joints, and edge restraints that keep the field from spreading. We also integrate sitting walls, steps and lighting so the finished space feels planned, not stitched together.

Serving Center Valley, the Lehigh Valley, Lehigh County and surrounding towns within a 30-mile radius.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Pavers or flagstone — which is better?+
Pavers are more consistent, install faster, and are easy to lift and re-set. Flagstone is one-of-a-kind and reads more traditional. Both last decades if the base is done right.
How long does a patio take to build?+
A typical 300–500 sq ft patio runs 4–8 working days depending on excavation, drainage work and material. Larger multi-level patios take longer. You'll get a firm schedule with the estimate.
Do I need drainage for a patio?+
Always. Every patio we build is pitched away from the house, with base stone that lets water move. On tricky sites we add drain tile or French drains so water doesn't back up against the foundation.
Can you add a sitting wall or steps later?+
Yes — but it's cheaper and cleaner to plan for them up front so the base and grades support them. We're happy to design in phases if budget requires.
